Unless otherwise stated, VirtualIDpassport and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights in the website and material on the website. Subject to the licence below, all these intellectual property rights are reserved.

You may view, download for caching purposes only, and print pages from the website for your own personal use, subject to the restrictions set out below and elsewhere in these Terms of Use.

DATA

By purchasing a virtualidpassport you agree to our terms and conditions and data processing

Due to the nature of our service it is necessary to collect as much data and information about you as possible, however once your passport is approved this data will be removed from our online website and stored offline in a secure data storage facility on a hard drive in an undisclosed place with password restricted access to this drive. This ensure that your details will never find their way or be released online and compromise you in anyway.

During the sign-up process you also have the option to have part or all of this information deleted, however in doing so could restrict the use of your passport on certain partner websites who employ the Virtualidpassport system

We cannot be liable for any compromise of Data loss or personal information during the period of subscription and when your data is removed from our online website which could be due to data breach, hackers, theft or other illegal activity beyond our control.

In accordance with the rules of GDPR we are registered with the ICO and you can request access to information that we store about you at any time and you may also request that this information is deleted.

Virtualidpassports are issued are normally issued within 7 days of receiving all the necessary information and documents to verify your details, however, lower level passports will be available immediately upon completion of your registration and payment being received.

When a partner requests information on your passport they are only provided with the following information.

  • A photograph to show who you are when entering venues, this is not provided for online services.
  • Your email address if you have given consent ( for online services your email and name must be made available)
  • Your Name if you have given consent
  • Your Telephone Number if you have given consent
  • Your age and DOB if you have given your consent
  • Your address if you have given consent
  • Any other relevant information but only with your consent
  • We do not store credit carddetails nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties
  • You can revoke your consent at any time and also at any time choose to hide your virtualidpassport details.
  • Once your application is approved your personal details are completely deleted from our online servers as per your choices.

Should you lose your details, with your consent we can retrieve this for a small charge from our offline storage facility if we have had your consent to keep a hold of any relevant information, otherwise you will need to re-apply.

Business Service

Our service of providing a virtualidpassport is so that you can still share some of your personal information with 3rd parties but gives you full control of our much or how little you share, usually this is limited to a name, email address and a telephone number for online services and a photograph with a QR code to access this for offline venues for the purpose of checking your age only. At any time you can request all or some of your data is removed are made unavailable.
When we store your details if requested by you with your permission, they are stored offline and are only accessed by using your unique passport number to retrieve them, we cannot search by your name or any other personal information.


We do not hold any information about you are your application if you do not give us permission first. You may also limit by choice what information we hold or share.

A venue may wish to email or send an SMS message to your when you are checked into their venue, this is part of the process that you can accept or decline at any time during sig up or while you are a member holding a virtualidpassport,

You may use your virtualidpassport as an age check verification on adult sites or gambling sites that pay us to use our service, we do not have a connection with these sites and any sites that we do partner with will display our logo as part of their GDPR process.
We do not receive any income or commission from any 3rd party sites as part of your registration or by becoming a member, we operate independently of other websites.

We may however provide webservices to other partner sites to make the sign up process easier for their visitors, this could involve opening our website in a frame on their website or using an API and/or a joint page with both branding so not to confuse clients where they can sign up direct from a partners website. This will be directly connected to our servers and the partners website will not receive or be able to store any of your personal data.

Your virtualidpassport may be loaded directly onto some partner websites enabling you to join or login without having to provide all your personal details, this keeps your information safe and secure if their website is breached in anyway. We cannot be held responsible or liable for any of these breaches that are beyond our control but it should not be possible to identify you from any information that could be obtained during such a breach unless you have shared information directly with the said website.

Virtualidpassports operates a privacy-by-design principle. All processes are optimised to reduce the risk of accidental loss, destruction or damage.

Our terms and conditions clearly state how personal data is processed and these are made available to all our account holders.

We work only with GDPR compliant data providers who can demonstrate the accuracy of their data, including processes whereby individuals can request that data is rectified or erased if it is found to be inaccurate or incomplete.

For a partner company using our service we cannot 100% guarantee the accuracy of anyone’s personal information, whilst we shall to the best of our ability check and verify the information provided, we cannot be held liable or responsible for any data provided that may be false or incorrect. It is your responsibility to take extra steps if you are in doubt about a particular individual and it is your decision which is final on whether you permit access to your website or grant permission to enter your venue/premises.

As this is also an online service we cannot be held liable or responsible for information that may be intercepted or copied during transit on the internet whilst in a digital format, by hackers or other illegal means.

24hrs makes our services available to any businesses that may require an age or identity check and they pay us for the service or checking and individuals information in an attempt to verify that they are who they say they are. This paid for service does not connect us in anyway with the websites or businesses that may use this service and we do not endorse any of the said businesses.

It is the virtualidpassport’s holders choice as to where they choose to use their virtualidpassport and we cannot be held responsible for any misuse of it or any deliberate or intended deceptions.

We operate within the guidelines set down by GDPR and we are also looking to comply with the CCPA laws for California which comes into effect on the 1/1/2020

Fraud

Any attempts at fraud or trying to gain access to our systems, or any illegal activity by members will result in a permanent ban from holding a virtualidpassport

This includes your time as a member and also during the sign up process should you knowingly provide false information in order to try and obtain a virtualidpassport and any information we do hold will be passed to the police of relevant authority to be dealt with accordingly and we will prosecute to the full extent of the law

Marketing

During the sign up process you will be asked what your details may be used for and how much you wish to disclose to 3rd parties for marketing purposes, we cannot be held responsible for any of the information you receive and it is your responsibility to keep your preferences up to date on our website or parther websites that you use your virtualidpassport to join. You will only receive information from where you have given your consent.

This also applies to pubs, clubs and venues that use the virtualidpassport system to age check guests on entry to their premises, whereby they have paid for information to identify you possibly by means of a telephone number or an email address for marketing purposes only.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
